WHO WE ARE
CENTRAL ARKANSAS CHI ALPHA CAMPUS MINISTRIES
For many, if you are a Christian, you will be the only Bible most people read. Therefore, we take what Paul said to the Corinthians pretty seriously when he said that we are “Christ’s Ambassadors”. Each of us who takes on the identity of “Christian” becomes Christ’s ambassador – or christou apostoloi in Greek, which we shorten to the first letters “Chi” and “Alpha” or XA. We are spread all throughout Arkansas, but our hearts are the same for students on campus. Our core values are WORSHIP, FAMILY, & MISSION.
WORSHIP
Our goal is to see college students reconciled to Christ and be sent out into the marketplace, the church, and the entire world to proclaim the Kingdom of God with their lives. We have a weekly worship gathering’s, discipleship groups, a myriad of retreats, and mission trips that all work to that end. We believe worship isn’t just singing, worship can be your entire life!
“So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it.” ROMANS 12:1 MSG
FAMILY
The backbone of our ministry, and Jesus’s for that matter, is/was discipleship. God has built us to be in community with one another and trying to operate outside of that, is a bit like a car trying to run with water in the tank. We are all in need of being discipled, and making disciples. Do you want to connect with Chi Alpha? Well we want to connect with you! The best place to start is by coming to one of our worship gatherings, and then getting connected with a DGroup. Then head over to the calendar to check the dates for our next retreat! We can’t wait to meet you, and if you are enrolled on one of our campuses, this is your warning. We’re coming for you. Or make it easy on us and drop by the office.
MISSION
“You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.” – Acts 1:8
As Christ’s Ambassadors, we are bound to the great commission, both at home (Judea), in our nation (Samaria), and throughout the earth (even the remotest parts). As we said before, discipleship is the backbone of our ministry. We are committed to relentlessly pursuing people for Christ in our context at home 11 months out of the year. For Spring Break, we give up a week to reach those in our nation that are impoverished, needing a savior. During our Summer, we spend a month in both South East Asia and Southern Africa, partnering with existing ministries to help them proclaim good news to the poor/oppressed.
